Yogurt Carrot Salad

Vegetables are considered to be very healthy food to maintain a healthy body. These contain lots of essential nutrients which are vital. At times we don’t like to consume just raw vegetables. So here’s the much healthier way to consume vegetable giving a little flavor and taste.

Yogurt Carrot Salad is a very simple, quick and most importantly healthy salad.

Yogurt Carrot Salad

Ingredients:

  1. 2 Large Carrots
  2. 1 Cup Yogurt (beaten)
  3. 1 Small Tomato
  4. 1 Green Chilli
  5. 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
  6. 1/4 tsp Chilli Powder (optional)
  7. 1 tbsp Coriander leaves (optional)
  8. Salt – As per Taste

How to Prepare:

  • Peel and coarsely grate the carrots.
  • In a bowl, add the beaten yogurt, salt, chopped tomato, chopped green chilli, cumin powder, salt, chilli powder and mix well.
  • Now, add the grated carrot and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Salad is ready to serve.

Notes:

  • You can also serve this salad with any briyani dish or pulav

Cucumber Salad

Cucumber is a wonderful vegetable to beat the heat during summer. This low calorie vegetable has more nutrients packed in it.

Cucumber Salad is a quick recipe and yet healthy.

Let’s see how to make this recipe..

Ingredients:

  1. 1 Cucumber
  2. 2 tsp Grated Coconut
  3. Coriander Leaves
  4. 1tsp Oil
  5. Salt – As per Taste

To Temper

  1. 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds & Cumin Seeds
  2. 2 Green Chilli

How to Prepare:

  1. Scrape out the cucumber skin and deseed the cucumber. Chop and put it in a bowl.
  2. To this bowl add the grated coconut, coriander leaves and keep aside.
  3. Heat oil and splutter mustard seeds & cumin seeds. Fry the chopped green chillies. Put this in the cucumber salad and mix well.
  4. Salad is ready to serve.

Sprouted Green Gram Salad

Sprouted Green Gram Salad

Sprouts are highly healthy and very easily digestive food. Sprouts are said to be one of the nutritious foods rich in digestive energy, vitamins, minerals, proteins and amino acids. Sprouted green gram can be had either raw or cooked.

Sprouts can be prepared at home or these are also readily available in markets. But, I prefer preparing it at home. It is very simple to prepare spouts at home.

Ingredients:

1 Cup Sprouted Green Gram, .1 Medium Tomato, 1 Carrot, 1/2 tbsp Pepper Powder, 1 tbsp Lemon Juice, 1 tbsp Coriander, Salt to Taste

How to Prepare:

Fine chop the tomato and carrot.

Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.

Creamy Fresh Fruit Salad

Ingredients:

250 Gm Of Fresh Fruit Like Apple, Orange and Green Grapes, 1 Cup Pineapple, 2 Bananas (Sliced), 1 Small Pack Cream, 2 Tbsp Sugar

How to Prepare:

Dice the apple with skin on as it adds color to the dish. Peel the white skin off the oranges and cut each segment into half. Cut grapes into halves. Put all the cut fruits in a large mixing bowl and set aside. Now, in a bowl add sugar, cream and beat together till smooth. Add the sweetened cream to the fruit and mix well. Refrigerate for half an hour for the flavors to get absorb. Mix again before serving.
