Mutton Stew is a breakfast recipe of Kerala and goes well with appam and idiyappam. This recipe tastes even good when prepared the previous night and have for breakfast the next day. When kept overnight all the spices blend well giving a different flavor. In this recipe, I have just used mutton and potatoes, but you can also add vegetables like carrot and beans if required. Hope you will try this… Ingredients: 250 gms Mutton, 2 Cups Coconut Milk, 2 Onion, 2 Potatoes (boiled & peeled), 3 Green Chilies, 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste, 1 tsp Poppy Seeds, 2 Cinnamon, 2 Cloves, 1 tsp Coriander Seeds, 2 tbsp Oil, Salt to Taste, Coriander Leaves for Garnishing. How to Prepare: Dry roast poppy seeds, coriander seeds and make a paste out of it. Wash the mutton clean and cut into medium pieces. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add onions, cinnamon, cloves and fry a minute. Add ginger garlic paste, slit green chillies and fry 2 minutes. Now, to this add chilli powder, ground paste, potatoes, mutton and mix well. Add enough water and cook until the mutton is tender. Now, add coconut milk and cook a 2-3 minutes in low flame. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with appam.
