Having idly and vada is very usual in a week or two. How to make a little difference in your regular breakfast schedule was always on my mind. I am sure most of us do this thinking a lot. So when we are up doing the regular vada’s we can make these crispy fried vadas in to smooth curd dips for your taste buds. What makes them tastier are the cumin and chili powders used in the making of curd mixture. I would say this is delicious and savoring snack or breakfast. grey Dahi Vada


1 Cup Urad Dal, 2 tbsp Moong Dhal, 3 Cups Curd/Yogurt, 2 tbsp Cumin Seeds, 3 Red Chillies, 1/4 tsp Sugar, Salt to Taste, Oil for deep fry, Coriander leaves for garnishing

How to Prepare:

Soak both the dals for 6-8 hours or overnight and grind it to smooth paste. Now, deep fry the vadas in oil and put the vadas in warm water for 5-10 seconds. Take out from the water and squeeze any excess water & keep aside. Beat the curd nicely with a spoon along with salt and sugar. Roast cumin seeds and red chillies and grind it to powder, add this to the beaten curd with very little water. Put the vada in the beaten curd and keep it for 5 minutes. Now, garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
